Update on the braces!!

I had an expander put in the roof of my mouth to try to break my soft palet on the roof of my mouth. It was only at max supposed to stay on for 6 weeks. However, I just went back to the ortho yesterday and he wants me to keep it on for another 5 weeks...totally 9 weeks or having this dumb thing on! No good!!

However, the ortho against his wishes, admitted that it is working! However that means that bottom braces will need to go on the fix the big gap between my bottom and top teeth. but that means no surgery!! :) The bottom braces will not go on for another year or so.

Work

So I found a job as a part time nanny for a fun family.

It works out perfectly for my school schedule, which is from 7:00am (yes that is right, I have a class that starts at 7:00am) until 11 or 12 every day. Then nanny from 12:30-4:00 everyday.

i am nannying a 3 year old deaf boy and an 18 month old little girl. They are both so cute.

They have two other children but they will be in school while I am there.

Its not the best pay but it will pay for gas to drive to Orem everyday from Taylorsville for school.

I also just had my scholorship post on my account at school. So I had to pay a whole $17 for school this semester. Oh and then $400 for books! :)

Our Camping Trip

Fun times were definately had at our fun family adventure.
First of all the cabin we got was HUGE!!! It was so nice. The temperature was perfect, except in the room I slept in, I was cold! but, I am often cold so no big surprise there.
Anyway, we went to St. George one day and hiked through this little tiny narrow strip of rocks. It was so cool. You couldn't turn your head one way or another without it getting stuck in between the rocks. It was so hot but it was worth every minute.
Then that same day we went on a driving adventure. We were supposedly driving to a cave however as we kept driving we were in the middle of nowhere!
Oh one other bonus is that in our big 12 passanger van that had all of my family crammed in it has no AC!! in 100 + degree temperatures. We are in the middle of the desert trying to find this cave. Finally we get to the turn around point and the Navigator car says oh...I think we passed it! :) ha ha ha....not funny!! ok so it really is funny now but then, not so much!
needless to say what shoudl have been a half hour jont into the desert into at least an hour.
Eventually however we found it!
It was worth the drive too, it was so beautiful.
You had to at points lay on your back and slide through rocks in order to get to the big opening. It was pitch black ( we all had flashlights) and it was so nice and cool! YAY!!!
Then we went to a big aquatic center in St. George that was fun! That made for a long day!
We went a few other places and the remainder of the days we just chilled in the cabin and played games and had fun!
Oh the adventures of a family vacation!! :)
Oh the adventures of riding in big blue too (that is our van)! he makes the vacation entertaining!

Braces

So on Thursday the 3rd of July I got braces! YAY right? NOT!! I am only getting top braces for now. Then this week of Thursday July 10th I get to go in and get my expander put on!

I put hot pink and lime green bands on because I figured if I am going to get these hideous things on I may as well make them fun! :)

My teeth are pretty much hurting me a lot and I have not been able to eat anything of substance since thursday. My diet has consisted of Jello, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, cottage cheese, Jambe Juice and anything I can just swallow whole! I am quite tired of all of that stuff already and I have quite some time to keep dragging through it!

I know it will be worth it! I just keep telling myself that!

Braces

So I just made an appointment to get my braces on for next week.

I am getting the molds and Xrays on Tuesday the 1st of July. Then I am getting the braces on Thursday July 3rd.

It should just be so much fun!

The day before the 4th!

I seem to always do things to myself around holidays! but, that does mean that I get a whole weekend to recover before I have to go back to work!

That is a blessing!

Plus I am excited to get straight teeth!

Get Smart!

I just wanted to jot a little something down about the movie Get Smart!
Basically I think that everyone should see the movie! I laughed so hard, my stomach ached by the time it was over! Maybe I was just in that kind of a mood so don't get mad at me if you don't think it was funny when you see it! :)
But I still think it is so funny! I have been quoting it all weekend!

Chris's car and school!

Chris got a car yesterday! His first car!

Its a 2001 Mazda 626. It is dark blue and it is seems really nice!
Plus he started school on last wednesday and he absolutely loves it!!!
